Hello to you wherever you’re reading from. Germany’s inability to make the final hurt a bit no thanks to the presence of Podolski as well as BFG who may have done better on the field but ended up without a minute of play at the Euros.
Would hurt Escobar and QED more, seeing as both rooted for Die Mannschaft to face Spain. Little consolation is, Poldi & BFG were the last gunners standing as they predicted.
Nonetheless the Germans were impressive through the Euros, and Sunday’s final will hopefully be one to remember for the right reasons. Here’s me waving a little Italian flag, I don’t know about Escobar and QED.
Away from the Euros, French club PSG has reportely joined the race of hopefuls for captain vantastic’s signature with the figure from them put at £28m.
The Dutchman has already been linked to Barcelona (which came to nothing), Juventus (that plays in an ‘inferior’ league) and Man. City (who he won’t play for as his father declared).
Joining Paris Saint Germain seems a bit far fetched for RvP as he’s stated money isn’t his motive. Money isn’t an issue for PSG either, and there’s Champions League football for them next season. We’ll see how that pans out.
Same manner we’re observing M’Vila’s situation, with reports debunking earlier claims that the Rennes midfielder was at London Colney recently.
It had been widely reported that the 21 year old was spotted at the club’s training facility, raising speculation that a deal was almost at completion.
Presently, there is nothing concrete concerning M’Vila’s future. There was even talk of Wenger being repulsed by the lad’s attitude at the Euros.
Former Gunner William Gallas thinks otherwise though, quoted on France football as saying “I met M’Vila one time. Seems to me as a good kid, very respectfull and well educated.”
The Euros end on Sunday and I’d hope that’s what the M’Vila camp is waiting for before making a definite decision concerning him.
Another bit from the transfer market has us lining up a move for Italian goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano. Co-owned by Palermo and Inter Milan, Viviano is also a target for Fiorentina.
The matter of his co-ownership; peculiar with Italian clubs, will have to be sorted out first.
Away from all that now. With the spate of clubs announcing new additions to their teams, Mikel Arteta has somehow got involved in such matter.
No worries, he’s still a gunner. His family however welcomed an addition to the house when the missus delivered a baby boy yesterday evening.
The baby is the Artetas second, the first also a boy, and we wish here at Memoirs along with all gooners wish the little one a wonderful life ahead.
Finally, Park Chu-Young may finally get some regular football in London but with the South Korean team after he was named in the country’s squad for the Olympic Games.
It’s exactly what the former national team captain needs to resurrect his career. Hopefully he’ll remind Wenger what he is capable of. He’ll be joined at the Olympics by Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey after both were named in team GB’s squad as well.
That’s the bit from here. It’s been a weird start to the day for me. Hopefully it’ll end well. Do have a pleasant day as well.
