Arsenal 0-1 Blackburn Rovers – The Player Ratings

Happy valentine’s day in arrears. After what we just witnessed, Lord knows we need all the love right now. Had all the ball, should have finished Rovers off before half-time, alas, we just had to suffer the embarassment of another Cup exit.

Below is how the players did… well, we have to:

Szczesny5
Had virtually nothing to do then wham! Colin Kazim-Richards hit the rebound in. Could he have done better with the punch out? I’d blame the defenders there.

Coquelin6
Good shift actually, then the Rovers’ players started to get at him in the latter stages.

Koscielny/Vermaelen5
Had little to do as well. Second half was below par however and Koscielny was perhaps no where for the goal.

Monreal4
Was snatching at the chances that came his way. Crosses were suspect too today.

Arteta4
Unusually uninspired today.

Diaby3
Lingers a bit too long on the ball, you’d think the evil spirit that was in Ramsey transferred into him.

Rosicky6
He was the one of our three midfielders likely to make something happen, then the Prof thought it wise to take him off. Wenger knows best.

Gervinhoshaking my head
What would have been if he scored… welcome back Gervinho. But, when is the next AFCON? Can’t come too soon.

Oxlade-Chamberlain4
Reckless.

Giroud2
Lethargic, unlike his face.

SUBSTITUTES

Wilshere6
Added some spark, but too little too late.

That’s eight seasons without a trophy now but… if you feel we can pull a Chelsea in Europe, I won’t deny you a chance to dream, every gooner deserves that.
