23 days, still no signing. It’s like a bad dream turned reality that you knew was going to happen but prayed and hoped it wouldn’t.
Newcastle have just spent about £15M to sign four players, which include Debuchy & Yanga Mbiwa, the latter one that could have improved us seeing the squad deficiencies we have.
But Wenger continues to say there isn’t quality out there good enough to play for us and he ruled out Zaha by saying he was never interested in him, which is weird because he claimed interest in November. Another lie.
It’s looking like it’s going to be another deadline day business if at all there’s any. Really disappointing.
I’m trying not to focus on the non activity in this window because I remember saying he wasn’t going to sign anyone and he has 8 days left to prove me wrong.
While doing nothing in the market, let’s see what we’ve been doing on the pitch instead.
• We’ve picked up 1 point from available 9 in January so far, conceding 5 and scoring 3.
• We’ve lost the services of Arteta and Coquelin, leaving us short of bodies in the middle.
Wenger says the players care just as much if not more than the Invincibles. If that’s not delusion from a once brilliant (might still be) man, then I don’t know what is.
Theo Walcott spoke out and said the players don’t think they’re good enough and he’s half right in the sense that, they’re good players, international caps aplenty, but work with a manager who doesn’t know how to get the best out of his team.
To the game against West Ham tonight, this we have to win to keep pace with the teams in 4th and 5th, anything less than a win and we can really start worrying because it means we can’t kick it with the big boys and neither defeat the average ones.
And it doesn’t get any easier as our next fixture is against a resurgent Liverpool side.
The team news is one of bittersweet taste, our midfield is threadbare and there’s report that a defender might have to fill in at midfield to cover.
Coquelin is out with a hamstring injury thanks to the demolition job Ramires put on him. Arteta isn’t back but Poldi is and so too Oxlade-Chamberlain.
I don’t care whatever team is sent out, all I care is for 3 points. Our players are dropping and you can tell the energy levels are too. That’s what happens when you have poor squad depth and keep playing the same team over.
Wilshere and Cazorla have played so much but we can’t rest them because there’s no one to play. It’s all Wenger’s fault. Hopefully both players will get the weekend at Brighton in the FA Cup off. Hopefully.
This game also sees potentially the last audition for West Ham’s Mohamed Diame. Let’s hope he passes it and we sign him……..or someone better.
Well then, a 3-1 win is my prediction for the game and I fancy Theo to continue his hot streak and a goal for Poldi too.
Enjoy the game wherever you’ll be watching from. Keep it goonerish!
Any thoughts/comments, share them below.
Best Regards.

Trouble is, if Diame passes his audition we won’t get 3 points tonight.
